We went out to a friend's BBQ and it was important to me to feel good about how I looked so I went all out and I felt great!

Day 13: Quinn Loves Daddy
Today we went for our first family walk by the lake and Steve wore her for the first time. We got some strange looks but I think they were more out of interest than anything else! Real men wear their babies!
When we got home everyone was exhausted. In the evenings Steve will take her so I can sleep or just have some alone time and most nights I come out and see something like this :) Love it.

Day 12: First Party!
Day 12:
We went to a BBQ at my brother's house. I'd say we're all looking pretty awesome for having a baby 11 days beforehand! Q even got to wear a little dress. I wore her in my homemade cotton gauze wrap so no one would try to touch her, it totally worked! People could peek at her face but she didn't get anyone's germs. Another reason to love babywearing!

Day 10: More snuggles and Baby Wearing!
I swear I have the cuddliest little daughter and I love it! The first photo is from a nap on my tummy after nursing and the second is from our first time using the Moby wrap. She snuggled right in and slept for a few hours! I'm a huge fan of babywearing so I'm glad that Quinn seems to be a fan as well!

Day 8: Cats/Family/ Baby's First Photoshoot!
This afternoon I did Quinn's first 'pro' photo shoot. Basically I set everything up like I would do for my clients and, with Steve's help, did a mini photo shoot with her. It was cut short because it was really hot (the A/C had gone out) and Mama was still in a lot of pain from giving birth one week prior so I had to stop myself before I hurt myself even more. We got a few keepers though!
That night my family came over and brought dinner. Uncle Mason changed his first diaper (with typical Mason enthusiasm!), Mom did what she does best, cuddled the baby. They are so cute together!

Day 7: Snuggling

Today Quinn got to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa Crane. They met her in the hospital but when they were visiting she was having her blood drawn so she was SCREAMING, then had an explosive meconium poop, then needed to practice breast feeding so, suffice to say, they weren't really able to meet her in the middle of all the craziness. We were so glad they came though! So today they came and made us stew in the crock pot and hung out while I napped and fed Q. Thanks so much for visiting!
This girl loves to snuggle, she loves her swaddle, she loves her daddy and she loves sleeping on Mommy's chest. I was so happy to catch the classic 'baby sleeping on daddy' shot with them. Steve was a little weirder out to wake up with my 5d in his face but I'm sure he'll get used to it! And then I got a little sleep smile from my best girl! Very productive photography day!

Day 5: Our first day at home!

Our first day at home was actually a whirlwind of taking Quinn to the doctor, taking me to the doctor, then a lactation consultant came to help us with our feeding technique. Not sure when this whole 'get as much rest as possible' part of recovery is supposed to start!
Thankfully, my mom has been here to help us out and she and Q are already best buds. I saw them snoozing on the chair and had to grab my 'big' camera and capture the moment!

Day 4: Heading Home!
After 3 days in the NICU Quinn is finally released to come home with us. We loaded her into the car at 11:59PM so at least we made it out of there by midnight. {insert sarcasm here} Grammie, Aunt Torey and Uncle Mason were waiting at home to welcome us. That made our long day totally worthwhile! It was fantastic to be able to hand the baby to my mom and get settled for a few minutes. They had lasagna and wine ready for us as well. What a fantastic welcome!
Steve and I went to sleep after feeding Quinn (my bed felt SO good after the hospital beds!) and my mom stayed up with Q and brought her in to us when she fell asleep. Thanks so much, Mom!
